Small Unit Tactics

Being skilled with firearms is great but that doesn’t mean that will be most effective in a team setting. Learning how to blend firearms skills with tactics in a unit setting is the most basic building block of our military infantry units. Being able to size up the situation and react effectively is just as important as firearms skills. This class will cover the tactics needed to effectively work together as a team up to squad size. The goal is to become one cohesive unit able to defend your team and your area should the need arise. There are many aspects to being a skilled unit that you must train on to be the most effective unit you can be. All subjects covered will teach you how to be proactive as well as reactive in implementing them.

• Patrolling
• Ambush/Counter ambush
• Formations
• Flanking maneuvers
• Base of fire
• Setting LP/OPs
• Setting hasty defenses
• Overlapping fields of fire
• SALUTE
• Hand signals
• Crossing danger areas
